Herringbone Flooring

Herringbone arranges rectangular planks in a zig-zag pattern. Chevron is similar but with angled ends forming a continuous point. CONSIDERATIONS • MORE LABOUR — layout and cutting take longer than straight planks, so installation costs more. • MORE WASTE — plan extra material. • MATERIALS — available in hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl and tile. • LAYOUT — the direction and starting point matter; ask the installer for a layout plan. Herringbone works well in entryways, living rooms and dining rooms where it can be the feature.
