ConstruWeb (“we,” “us,” or "our") is operated by David Rivera, a sole proprietor. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights when using the ConstruWeb platform as a homeowner or contractor.

This policy is designed to meet the standards of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws in Ontario.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the directory and manage your account:

• Account information: Email address and password collected through Supabase auth when you create a contractor account. We do not store passwords in plain text.
• Contractor business information: Company name, business address, service areas, trade categories, descriptions, services offered, years in business, and contact details you choose to display publicly.
• Media uploads: Company logos, cover photos, project images, and videos you upload to your profile.
• Lead and contact submissions: Name, email, phone, project details, and other information submitted by homeowners through contact or quote-request forms.
• Usage analytics: Basic, session-deduplicated analytics such as profile views, quote requests, website clicks, and video views to help contractors understand their visibility on the platform.

Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. ConstruWeb never stores credit card numbers, banking details, or other payment instrument data.

3. How we use your data

We use personal information to:

• Display public contractor profiles to homeowners.
• Process and deliver quote requests and contact submissions to the relevant contractors.
• Manage contractor subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
• Contact users about their account, subscription, or leads.
• Review profiles for quality, accuracy, and compliance before they are published.
• Improve the platform through aggregated, non-identifying usage analytics.

4. Data storage and third parties

We rely on trusted service providers to operate ConstruWeb:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, file storage, and server functions.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments and manages billing portals.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy standards. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or other third parties.

5. Cookies and analytics

ConstruWeb uses minimal cookies and local storage necessary for authentication, session management, and basic analytics. Analytics data is aggregated and used to understand platform usage, not to personally track individual homeowners across other sites.

6. Your privacy rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access, update, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Contractors can request access to or deletion of their account data by contacting construwebgroup@gmail.com. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal or billing records we are required to retain.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you request deletion, we will remove or anonymize your data unless we are required to keep certain records by law.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of ConstruWeb after changes means you accept the revised policy.
