Ontario has warned that fraudulent providers may take money and issue cards without valid approved training.
Ontario has warned workers and employers about fraudulent Working at Heights training. Some providers may accept payment and issue a card without delivering valid, approved training.
A card is not proof of valid training on its own.
WHAT EMPLOYERS AND WORKERS SHOULD DO
• Verify the provider is on Ontario's list of approved training providers before booking.
• Confirm the worker's training appears in Ontario's records.
• Be cautious of courses that are unusually short, fully online, or offered without hands-on practice.
• Keep training records and provide site-specific training.
